Every person operating a motor vehicle upon the streets of the City of Lexington, Missouri, shall operate the same in a careful and prudent manner, exercising the highest degree of care in the operation thereof and shall operate such vehicle at a speed so as to not endanger life or limb or property, and shall operate said vehicle at a speed not in excess of 25 mph on all streets in the City of Lexington, Missouri, except at the following locations where the speed limit shall be as follows:

Within the City limits: 25 mph (unless otherwise posted).
B. 
School Zones: 20 mph.

20th Street and South Street to 20th Street and Poplar Avenue — both directions (when amber light is flashing).

24th Street at Aulls Lane to the intersection of 24th Street and U.S. 24 Highway — both directions.

24th Street and Aulls Lane to Polge Lane and Aulls Lane — both directions.

U.S. 24 Highway: 60 mph — both directions.
D. 
Missouri Highway 13: 25, 35 and 45 mph — both directions:

South City limits to U.S. 24 Highway overpass — 45 mph.

U.S. 24 Highway to Tremont Avenue — 35 mph.

Tremont Avenue throughout the City — 25 mph (unless otherwise posted).
E. 
Missouri Highway 224 East: 25, 35 and 45 mph — both directions:

Martin Lane to U.S. Highway 24 — 45 mph.
*
21st Street to Martin Lane — 35 mph.
*
Throughout the City — 25 mph (unless otherwise posted).
F. 
Missouri Highway M-224 West: 25 and 35 mph — both directions.
