The Planning Board established under Chapter Four shall make recommendations to the select board on all matters concerning the physical, economic, and environmental development of the Town, as prescribed by General Law, and this Charter.

8-1-2 
The Board shall be responsible for the development and periodic updating of a comprehensive plan, which shall be utilized as the basis of all planning activities, procedures, and recommendations in the Town.
8-1-3 
A copy of the comprehensive plan shall be kept available for inspection at the office of the Director of Finance and Administrative Services and at the Public Library.

8-2-1 
The select board may appoint a planning director from a list of 2 or more eligible candidates prepared by the planning board. The director shall be professionally qualified for the duties of a planning director by reason of education, training and experience and shall provide planning director services under the direction of the planning board.

8-3-1 
The select board shall have the authority to condemn and compel to be removed, signs, billboards, shacks, and dilapidated buildings, wherever the same mar the beauty of the Town, provided that such action shall be undertaken in accordance with due process of law, and that such resolution shall have been recommended previously by the Planning Board, or by the Town's chief inspecting officer.
