The Board of Aldermen hereby adopts the 2018 International Residential Code as published by the International Code Council, Inc., and all referenced standards, including Appendices A, B, C, D, E, G, H, J, K, and N as if spelled out herein, save and except such portions thereof as are hereinafter deleted, modified, or amended, for regulating the design, construction, quality of materials, erection, installation, alteration, repair, location, relocation, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of one- and two-family dwellings and town houses not more than three (3) stories in height in the City of Ozark. A copy of said code is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Ozark, Missouri.

A. 
The 2018 International Residential Code, as adopted, is hereby amended and changed as follows:
1. 
Amend Section R101.1 to add the following language: The City of Ozark.
2. 
Delete the language in Section R103, Department of Building Safety, in its entirety and insert, in lieu thereof, the following language: Refer to Section 103 of the International Building Code.
3. 
Amend Section R108.2, Schedule of permit fees, by adding the following language at the end of the paragraph: The fees referred to in this Section shall be as set forth in Section 500.190 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Ozark.
4. 
Delete Section R112 in its entirety.
5. 
Amend Section 8113.4 by adding the following language at the end of the paragraph: The penalties are set forth in Section 500.200 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Ozark.
6. 
Amend Table R301.2(1) to reflect the following values:

Deleting Section R309.5 Fire Sprinklers in its entirety.

Deleting Section R313 Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following language: A builder of five (5) or more connected units shall comply with the design and installation requirements of the 2018 International Residential Code Section P2904. The builder of four (4) or less connected units shall comply with fire suppressant separation as provided in Section R317 of the 2006 International Residential Code or Section P2904 of the 2018 International Residential Code at the builder or purchaser's cost and option.

Amend Section R501.3.5 by adding the following exception: No protection required when there is no mechanical equipment located in a crawl space.

Delete Section P2503.5.2 item 2 in its entirety.

Delete Section P2503.6 in its entirety.
12. 
Amend Section E3902.2 by adding the following exception: GFCI is not required if garage door opener receptacle is a single dedicated receptacle and not a duplex.

Delete the language in Section 802.11 in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following language: All rafters and trusses shall be mechanically fastened not more than twenty-four (24) inches on center.

Delete Section N1102.1.2 Installation Requirement for Floors in its entirety.
