The Township Cultural Arts Council, heretofore created by ordinance
pursuant to general law, is continued with functions, powers and duties
prescribed by general law and ordinance. The Township Council shall
appoint the members of the Council, who shall serve without compensation.
The Cultural Arts Council (hereafter known as "Council") shall
promote and encourage the expression and appreciation of the visual,
literary and performing arts in Franklin Township by utilizing and
cultivating the rich diversity of talent available both within and
to Franklin Township.
The purpose and function of the Cultural Arts Council are:
A. To investigate, develop and recommend community initiatives encouraging
expression and appreciation of the arts in Franklin Township.
B. To promote initiatives and events encouraging expression and appreciation
of the arts in Franklin Township.
C. To establish relationships with private and nonprofit organizations
to further the expression and appreciation of the arts.
D. To leverage arts expression and appreciation to foster economic development
and growth.
E. To maximize utilization of Franklin Township's indigenous arts resources,
both institutional and individual.
F. To recommend public policy and legislative positions that serve to
achieve the mission.
Procedural questions will be managed according Robert's Rules
unless Committee bylaws are adopted which will supersede the use of
Robert's Rules.
