A. Two
(2) full and complete plats or maps of the proposed subdivision or
addition shall be prepared at the expense of the proprietor of the
proposed addition or subdivision, setting forth and describing with
particularity all parcels of ground within such proposed addition
or subdivision dedicated for public purposes by their boundaries,
whether intended for alleys, streets or other public uses, and also
all lots, by numbers, and their precise length and width. Such plats
or maps shall further show the location of monuments at the intersection
of the centerline of all streets within such proposed addition or
subdivision, at the points where said streets and alleys leave said
proposed addition or subdivision, at the boundary corners of such
proposed additions or subdivisions, and at such other places and with
such precision as may be deemed necessary by the City Council. Said
monuments shall be constructed of heavy copper pipe two (2) feet in
length and one (1) inch in diameter and of a design satisfactory to
the said City Council; and it is further provided that the entire
cost of constructing and placing said monument shall be paid by the
proprietors of such proposed addition or subdivision.
B. Aforesaid
plats or maps shall show that all streets and alleys of the City,
which, if prolonged in straight lines, would occupy any portion of
the land in such proposed addition or subdivision, have been laid
out the full length and entirely through subdivision and all streets
or alleys of such proposed addition or subdivision, as near as may
be, shall run parallel with or be continuous on a straight line of
the streets of this City.
C. Aforesaid
plats or maps shall further show that all of the said streets and
alleys have been dedicated to the public forever and shall be acknowledged
by the proprietor before some officer authorized by law to take the
acknowledgments to conveyances of real estate.
D. Before
such plat shall be submitted to the City Council, all taxes on the
land proposed to be added or subdivided shall be paid.
E. The
aforesaid plat shall be drawn to scale, with the scale noted on the
plat, and showing the block or section or part thereof it purports
to represent.
F. After
such aforesaid plat shall be prepared as above, and after approval
thereof by ordinance as hereinafter provided, and after such approval
thereof has been endorsed upon such plat under the hand of the Clerk
and the Seal of the City, one (1) of the said plats shall, at the
expense of the proprietors, be duly recorded in the office of Recorder
of Deeds of Lewis County, Missouri, and the other shall be filed in
the office of the City Clerk.

The proprietor of the proposed subdivision or addition shall
place all streets and alleys at a grade to conform to adjoining and
intersecting streets and alleys of the City and shall improve said
streets and alleys in such proposed addition or subdivision so that
they shall be in a good and passable condition and satisfactory to
the Committee on Streets and Alleys prior to the submission of said
plats for the approval of the City Council.

Before such proposed addition or subdivision shall be accepted,
the City Council, by ordinance, shall establish the same and declare
it to be a part of the City. The fees for the publication of such
ordinance shall be paid by the proprietor of such proposed addition
or subdivision before publication of the ordinance.

Nothing in this Chapter shall be construed to bind the City
of LaGrange, Missouri, to recognize any addition or subdivision hereafter
made by any person or persons not in conformity with the above and
foregoing specifications or to grade, macadamize, pave or repair any
street or sidewalk therein.
