Each builder, constructor, carpenter, bricklayer, plasterer,
stone mason, roofer, electrician or building contractor making a contract
for the erection, alteration or repair of any building or structure
or portion thereof or for the installation of electrical work shall
first obtain a license and then submit to an examination before the
Building Licensing Committee of the Borough of Somerdale, unless otherwise
exempted herein.

Each person, corporation or partnership making application for
said license shall pay the required fee as set forth in the Fee Ordinance
of the Borough of Somerdale per year.

All such licenses shall be good for the period of one year and
shall expire on December 31 of each year and shall be renewable without
examination upon payment of the annual license fee, as set forth in
the Fee Ordinance of the Borough of Somerdale.

There is created by this chapter a Building Licensing Committee
to be appointed by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Somerdale,
the members of which shall hold office for a period of one year, and
which shall be composed of the Construction Code Official, one member
of the Planning Board, one member of the Zoning Board and one member
of the Council. Said members shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed
by the Council.

The Licensing Committee shall have the power to revoke any license
for the violation of the State Uniform Construction Code or any pertinent
ordinances of the Borough of Somerdale.
Any corporation or partnership doing any construction work in
the Borough of Somerdale shall have a licensed person in charge thereof.
The Licensing Committee shall adopt proper rules and regulations
for the examination of each applicant.

A. Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon
conviction thereof, be subject to any combination of the following:
(1) A fine of not less than $100 nor more than $1,000.
(2) A term of imprisonment not exceeding 90 days.
(3) A period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
B. The continuation of such violation for each successive day shall
constitute a separate offense, and the person or persons allowing
or permitting the continuation of the violation may be punished as
provided above for each separate offense.
