The object of this chapter is to protect the public against disease which may occur through the use of instruments and equipment which cannot, for the public protection, be safely maintained and used except by a registered physician for medical purposes.
It shall be unlawful for any person to tattoo a human being or for any person, firm or corporation to conduct the business of tattooing within the Borough of Somerdale, except that tattooing may be performed for medical purposes by a physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey.
A. 
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to any combination of the following:

(1) 
A fine of not less than $100 nor more than $1,000.
(2) 
A term of imprisonment not exceeding 90 days.
(3) 
A period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
B. 
Each day such violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as such.
