The purpose of this chapter is to protect the public health, welfare and safety of the residents of the Village of Churchville by regulating the operation of motorcycles, motor-driven cycles, motor scooters, bicycles with motors attached, minibikes, mini motorcycles, go-carts, trail bikes, snowmobiles and other recreational vehicles, whether on wheels or skis, tracks or treads, being motor-driven, on public sidewalks in the Village of Churchville in a manner which will be compatible with the use of such sidewalks for pedestrian travel and other pedestrian uses.
Operation on sidewalks within the Village of Churchville of motorcycles, motor-driven cycles, motor scooters, bicycles with motors attached, minibikes, mini motorcycles, go-carts and trail bikes is hereby prohibited.
Operation of snowmobiles or other recreational vehicles, whether on wheels or skis, tracks or treads, being motor-driven, on any sidewalks within the Village of Churchville is hereby prohibited, except that snowmobiles may be operated on sidewalks within the Village of Churchville at a speed not in excess of five miles per hour; however, such use of the sidewalks by snowmobiles in the Village of Churchville shall be only for the purposes of travel to and from specific locations, and use of the sidewalks by snowmobiles for racing, sporting events, or continual back and forth usage without any specific destination is hereby prohibited.

Physically disabled persons may use electric-driven mobility assistance devices (EDMAD) during any season of the year, provided that said EDMADs shall be able to seat or accommodate by either standing or sitting no more than one person, who shall be the physically disabled person. Said EDMADs shall not be greater than 20% greater in width or height or depth than the standard-size wheelchair. Said EDMADs may be used on all walks. For purposes of this section, "electric-driven mobility assistance device" means a single-seat electric-powered device operated or driven by a person with a disability.

Any person committing an offense against any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, Article II, General Penalty, of the Village Code.
