A.
No person shall park a motor vehicle on private property without
the consent of the property owner.
B.
No person shall park a vehicle on publicly owned property without
the consent of the public body owning the property unless the vehicle
is parked in an area open to the public and designated for public
parking of vehicles.

If a vehicle is parked in violation of § 34-12, the owner of the property may have the vehicle impounded by a business engaged in the towing and storage of vehicles in accordance with state law. Impound of a vehicle under this article must be conducted in accordance with the requirements of Chapter II of the State Motor Vehicle Code, special anti-theft provisions, being MCL 257.252 to 257.254.
B.
A business impounding a vehicle pursuant to this section must notify
the Department of Public Safety immediately after impounding the vehicle.
The business releasing an impounded vehicle must notify the Department
of Public Safety within one hour of the release. Impounded vehicle
release notifications may be made by telephone.
C.
A business impounding a vehicle from public or private property must
pay to the Township Public Safety Department an administrative fee
for required police processing of the impoundment and release of the
vehicle. The processing fee shall be as set from time to time by the
Township Board of Trustees and shall be paid on all vehicles released
from impound.
D.
No person shall impound a vehicle, release an impounded vehicle,
or authorize the impoundment of a vehicle except in compliance with
this article.
A.
The Department of Public Safety shall adopt procedures for the invoicing
and collection of impounded vehicle processing fees.
B.
The Board of Trustees may authorize the Treasurer or the Treasurer's
designee to take action to collect any unpaid administrative fees
assessed pursuant to this article.
