§ 7-45 Authorization.

The establishment of the amount of compensation to elected officials is authorized by the Charter of the City of Altoona.

§ 7-46 Compensation of Mayor.

The compensation of the Mayor of the City of Altoona shall be $75,000 per year, for the Mayor whose term begins January 2016 and thereafter, and shall be payable in the manner and increments consistent with other City employees, together with the healthcare benefits available to the nonuniformed City department heads; however, the Mayor shall not be eligible for pension benefits. Travel expenses shall be consistent with the City travel policy applicable to City employees. Said compensation shall remain the same until further action as required by the Home Rule Charter.

§ 7-47 Compensation of Council members.

The compensation of Council members of the City of Altoona shall be $5,000 per year, for Council members whose terms begin January 2016 and thereafter, and shall be payable in the manner and consistent with other City employees and in increments once per month. Council members shall not be eligible for any other benefits available to other City employees and travel expenses shall be consistent with the City travel policy applicable to City employees. Said compensation shall remain the same until further action as required by the Home Rule Charter.
