Pursuant to Article 7 of the Village Law of the State of New
York, there shall be a Planning Board.
The Planning Board shall consist of five members. The members
of the Planning Board shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to the
approval of the Board of Trustees. All such appointments shall not
exceed a term of five years.
The Chairperson of the Planning Board shall be appointed by
the Mayor subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. The term
of the Chairperson shall be one official year, and shall be appointed
each year at the organizational meeting of the Board of Trustees.
In the absence of a Chairperson, the Planning Board may designate
a member to serve as Acting Chairperson.

The Planning Board shall hold at least one regular meeting each
month if there is pending business to be addressed by the Planning
Board, and shall hold such executive sessions and public hearings
as deemed necessary or as may be called by the Chairman. No action
of the Planning Board shall be valid unless authorized by a majority
vote of the fully constituted Planning Board, regardless of absences
or vacancies. If there are no applications or pending business, the
Planning Board shall not be required to meet.
The Planning Board shall from time to time adopt rules and regulations
for the transaction of business and shall keep a record of its resolutions,
transactions, findings and determinations, which shall be a public
record.
The Planning Board shall have full power and authority to make
such investigations, maps and reports and recommendations relating
to the planning and development of the Village, provided that the
total expenditures of said Board shall not exceed the appropriation
of expenses.
The Village of Brewster Board of Trustees may refer any matter
or class of matters to the Planning Board, before final action, for
a report to be submitted within a reasonable amount of time as fixed
by the Board.
