The Board of Supervisors herein establishes a permanent Open
Space and Land Preservation Committee.

A. The Committee shall consist of nine members as enumerated below:
(1) Warrington Township resident-at-large (5).
(2) Warrington Township Planning Commission member (1).
(3) Warrington Township Environmental Advisory Council member (1).
(4) Warrington Township liaisons (2) from any of the following boards
or committees: Historical Commission, Parks and Recreation Committee
or Bike and Hike Trails Committee.
B. One member of the Board of Supervisors shall serve as Committee liaison,
and the Township Manager may appoint a member of the Township staff
as staff liaison.

The advisory boards shall each submit a nomination to the Board
of Supervisors of a current member for appointment to the Open Space
and Land Preservation Committee prior to December 31 of each year.
Applications for at-large members will be solicited. Initial appointments
shall be as follows:
A. Three members
appointed to a three-year term.
B. Two members
appointed to a two-year term.
C. Two members
appointed to a one-year term.

The Open Space and Land Preservation Committee shall be charged
with the following activities:
A. In conjunction with Warrington Planning Commission, updating the
inventory of all remaining Township open-space parcels and keeping
an index of such areas, whether publicly or privately owned, including
but not limited to flood-prone areas, swamps, and other unique natural
areas, for the purpose of obtaining information on and making recommendations
regarding the proper use of such open space areas.
B. Developing and recommending programs for open space preservation
and environmental protection.
C. Continue to identify new parcels for purchase and work along with
landowners to protect all Warrington Township open spaces.
D. Performing activities that protect all open space parcels, whether
preserved by easement or by ordinance.
E. Serving as an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors on all matters
associated with open space preservation within the Township.
F. Performing such other services as shall be requested, from time to
time, by the Board of Supervisors.
G. The Committee may utilize volunteers to assist Committee members
in accomplishing the activities listed above and any other activities
that the Committee undertakes.
