Village of Dansville, NY Stop and Yield Intersections; U-Turns

The purpose of this article shall be to promote the health, safety and general welfare of the Village of Dansville, including the protection and preservation of the Village and its inhabitants and of the peace and good order by designating certain intersections as stop or yield intersections and by ordering like signs to be erected at one or more entrances to such intersection pursuant to Vehicle and Traffic Law § 1640 as it may be changed and amended from time to time.

The following intersections are hereby designated as stop intersections in the Village of Dansville, Livingston County, New York, and it is hereby ordered that stop signs be immediately erected thereat. For each intersection hereinafter set forth, vehicle movement in the direction(s) mentioned on the roadway first set forth is being controlled at the intersection with the second roadway set forth.

For each intersection hereinafter set forth, vehicle movement in the direction(s) mentioned on the roadway first set forth is being controlled at the intersection with the second roadway set forth.

At each stop and yield sign and intersection designated in this article, as it may be amended from time to time, every driver of a vehicle shall proceed only in accordance with the laws of the State of New York concerning such intersections and signs, and in particular Vehicle and Traffic Law §§ 1142 and 1172 as they may be amended or changed from time to time.

No vehicle shall make a U-turn or a reverse turn on Main Street between Liberty Street and William Street, and such location will be posted with signage.

Any violation of the provisions of this article shall be punishable as set forth in Article VIII, Penalties, of this chapter.
