As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated.
PARKS, OPEN SPACE and RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
Includes all public parks owned by the Township of Cranbury.
SMOKING
Consistent with N.J.S.A. 26:3D-57, the burning of, inhaling from, exhaling the smoke from, or the possession of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or any other matter or substance which contains tobacco or any other matter that can be smoked, or inhaling or exhaling of smoke or vapor from an electronic smoking device.

Smoking shall be prohibited in Millstone Park, Heritage Park, Village Park, Barn Park, Cranbury Brook Preserve (West Property), Hagerty Park, Memorial Park, Brainerd Dam, Reinhardt Forest Preserve, Shadow Oaks Park, Unami Woods, West Fields and all other Township-owned properties.

No-smoking signs or the international no-smoking symbol (consisting of a pictorial representation of a burning cigarette enclosed in a circle with a diagonal line through its cross section) shall be clearly, sufficiently and conspicuously posted at the entrance to every public place where smoking is prohibited by this article. The signs shall be clearly visible to the public and shall contain letters or a symbol which contrast in color with the sign, indicating that smoking is prohibited therein. The sign shall also indicate that violators are subject to a fine. However, the posting of such signs shall not congest the overall appearance of the areas regulated by this article nor impose an inordinate expense upon the Township of Cranbury.

The Police Department shall enforce this article.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, any person violating any provisions of this article shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than $250 for the first offense, $500 for the second offense, and $1,000 for each subsequent offense.
No provision in this article shall be construed or interpreted to allow smoking where it is otherwise restricted by other laws.
