No person shall permit any junk vehicle to remain on his property
for a period of more than three days after notice to remove the same
shall have been given him by the Supervisors through their administrative
officer or other agent.
No person shall abandon any vehicle on property, public or private,
in the Township or permit the same to remain on any public or private
property in the Township for a period of more than three days from
the receipt of notification from the Supervisors to remove the same.
Such notice shall be delivered by the Township administrative officer
or other agent of the Supervisors.
The vehicle registration of any motor vehicle shall be prima
facie evidence of its ownership. Any other evidence of ownership may
be used to establish the fact of ownership, such as serial numbers,
manufacturers' numbers, or other evidence of ownership.
In addition to the penalties hereinafter provided for violations
of this chapter, the Supervisors, upon the expiration of the notice
required herein, may enter on any property where any junk vehicle
is located, remove the same, and collect the cost of such removal
from the owner by legal proceedings. The exercise of any such power
by the Supervisors or their agents shall not deprive the Township
of the right to proceed in any such situation in a court of equity
,nor shall it affect the penalties herein prescribed for violation.
In case of the violation of the provisions of §§
342-2 and
342-3 of this chapter, the offender, upon prosecution before any Magisterial District Judge in the County of Chester in a summary proceeding and being found guilty of such violation, shall pay a penalty of $10 for each offense.
The location of any junk vehicle within the prohibition of this
act shall constitute a separate offense for each day the same is permitted
to continue.
