The Saline County Health Inspector, pursuant to City contract, shall be charged with the duty of enforcing the provisions of this Chapter, and is authorized and directed to formulate and adopt reasonable and necessary rules and regulations to accomplish its enforcement.

It shall be unlawful for any person in the City to sell or expose or offer for sale at any place, the flesh of any dead animal which was sick or overheated or run down by dogs or otherwise at or immediately before the time at which the same was butchered or slain, or which died a natural death or was killed by an accident or otherwise than in the usual or ordinary method of slaughtering animals for food, or to sell or offer for sale any decayed or unsound meat, vegetables, eggs, poultry, fish or other unwholesome articles of food.

The sanitation regulations for eating and drinking establishments of the City shall be those presently established or hereafter adopted by the City Council and kept on file in the City Clerk's office.

That the 1999 Missouri Food Code, as set out in the Code of State Regulations, 19 CSR 20.1.025 et seq., as amended, is hereby adopted as the sanitation regulations for eating and drinking establishments within the corporate limits of the City. Any amendment, deletion or addition to the Missouri Food Code, adopted after the date of this Section, shall be effective upon publication and adoption by the State.

Editor's Note: This ordinance also repealed original CC 1985 Ch. 13, Art. II, §§ 13-21 through 13-42, regarding sanitation regulations for eating and drinking establishments. The repealed Sections shall remain in effect with respect to any violation occurring prior to the date of passage of Ord. No. 8060.
