[Amended 1-7-1965 by Ord.
No. 370]
No person or persons, partnership, firm or corporation shall
hold any circus, carnival, public dance or other public entertainment
for which an admission charge or fee is charged or collected, or shall
operate any public dance hall, at any place within the Borough of
Lemoyne, without first having paid the applicable license fee, as
follows: for any circus or carnival, $25 a day; for any public dance
or dance hall, $25 a day; for any other type of public entertainment,
$10 a day; and having obtained a license therefor from the Mayor.
Provided: the Mayor may, at his discretion, refuse to grant a license
in any case where he, in his judgment, has reason to believe that
the holding of such circus, carnival, public dance or other entertainment,
or the operation of such dance hall might endanger the public health,
welfare or safety. Provided further: licenses shall be issued free
of charge, for all entertainments and exhibitions, of whatever kind
or nature, held for the benefit of any charitable or religious or
education purpose or cause.
No person owning or controlling any building, lot or parcel of ground within the limits of the Borough of Lemoyne shall permit any of the entertainments, performances, shows or exhibitions referred to in the first section of this chapter for which a license is necessary under the terms of this chapter, to be given or held in such building, lot or parcel of ground until the license provided for by §
141-1 hereof shall have been first obtained.
