A. The
rules, provisions, standards and procedures of the National Fuel Gas
Code adopted by the National Fire Protection Association on July 15,
1988 and approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI),
Inc., on August 22, 1988 (ANSI designation Z223.1-1988) are hereby
adopted and made part of this Section by reference and shall extend
over and govern the installation of fuel gas piping systems, fuel
gas utilization equipment and related accessories within the City
of Portageville, Missouri, or within its jurisdiction.
B. Upon
conviction of a violation of any provision of the Code above-referenced,
the violator shall be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred
dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail for
not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.

Pursuant to 4.1.1(a) of the National Fuel Gas Code, a duly appointed
representative of the City of Portageville, Missouri, shall inspect
all gas piping installations within the City of Portageville and an
inspection fee of ten dollars ($10.00) shall be paid to the City of
Portageville, Missouri, by the property owner of each said premises
inspected.
