The Airport Manager shall have the authority to grant such variances as may be in harmony with the general purpose and intent of these Airport Rules and Regulations, or where a literal application of such regulations would result in an unreasonable and unnecessary difficulty or burden, and the relief granted would not be contrary to the public interest but would do substantial justice and be in accordance with the spirit of these Airport Rules and Regulations.
Variances shall be based upon the following standards:
A. 
Safety concerns.
B. 
Compatibility with the Airport Master Plan.
C. 
Whether any nuisance conditions would be created, such as traffic congestion, lighting, etc.
D. 
Any other reasonable alternative available to the variance.
E. 
Self-created problem.
F. 
Within the scope of the Charter and Code of the Town of Nantucket.
