The Police Department of the Village of Clinton is hereby abolished.
This chapter shall take effect upon the execution of an intermunicipal
agreement for law enforcement protection, with the Town of Kirkland,
unless petitions demanding permissive referendum are properly, duly
and timely filed, in which case, said chapter shall take effect upon
approval of the electorate of the Village of Clinton and filing with
the Secretary of State, but in no case prior to 12:01 a.m. on 1 July,
1994.
