Be it ordained, by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Woodstown, in the County of Salem and State of New Jersey:
This chapter shall be entitled "Underground Utilities."
Unless a greater depth is required by state statute or regulation, all underground utility, television, telephone or other commercial or residential services shall be maintained at a depth of at least 18 inches below the surface. The installer of said services shall ensure that this depth is maintained and that the services are buried to a sufficient depth to allow for future changes that might result in a decreased depth.
Any person or entity violating any provision of this chapter may be fined up to $500 and imprisoned for a term of not more than 90 days, or both.
