All properties utilized for residential purposes shall contain adequate improved parking spaces for the permitted number of vehicles. Parking spaces and driveways must be constructed within design standards of an impervious surface or hard-packed gravel or stone. All vehicles shall be positioned in parking spaces so as not to interfere with pedestrian travel over public sidewalks. No motor vehicles or trailers shall be parked or stored in the front yard of a dwelling as defined in § 67-5 except on a driveway delineated by an improved surface constructed within design standards.

Each residential dwelling may have the number of approved parking spaces detailed in § 67-85.

No more than one vehicle or trailer with a total length exceeding 24 feet shall be permitted on any lot. Any vehicle or trailer that is not registered and insured for use on public streets must be parked in a garage as defined in § 67-5.

The occupant or owner of any residential premises violating the provisions of §§ 87-40, 41 and 42 shall be subject to a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500 per day and may be sentenced to a term of incarceration not exceeding six months.
