When a building permit is required by the State Building Code,
it shall be unlawful to construct, reconstruct, alter, repair, remove
or demolish a structure, or to change the use or occupancy of a building
or structure, or to install or alter any equipment for which provision
is made or the installation of which is regulated by the State Building
Code, without first filing a written application with the Building
Inspector and obtaining the required permit therefor.

(A) When a building permit is required by the State Building Code, it
shall also be subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts Building
Code 780 CMR Appendix 120 AA, entitled "Stretch Energy Code," including
amendments or modifications thereto, for the purpose of regulating
the design and construction of buildings for the effective use of
energy.
(B) This section shall take effect on January 1, 2011, and shall operate
concurrently with the current building code requirements until July
1, 2011.

Anyone who violates §
150.01 of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of $300.
