There shall be a Department of Health, the head of which shall
be the Township Health Officer. He shall be a licensed health officer.
The Health Officer shall be appointed by the Township Manager, who
may also appoint sanitarians and other personnel when authorized by
the Council. Salary for the Health Officer and other employees shall
be established in a general salary ordinance. The Department shall
have the functions and powers and duties of a municipal health officer
or department of health as prescribed by the general law.
