This article shall be known as "Local Law No. 1 of the Year 2020" and may be cited as the "Town of Newstead Parking Restrictions Along Roads in the Town," to be codified as Chapter
388, Article
III, of the Code of the Town of Newstead.
The purpose of this article is to regulate the stopping, standing,
or parking of any vehicle at any time in any area hereinafter established
by the Town Board of the Town of Newstead along certain roads in the
Town pursuant to § 1660 of the New York State Vehicle and
Traffic Law.
The provisions of §§ 1200 through 1203(d), Subdivision
2, § 306(b) and § 402, Subdivision 6, of the Vehicle
and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall be the effective sections
for purposes of this article in defining and determining a parking,
standing or stopping violation.
The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited in any of the following
locations
A. Along bike paths crossing in the Town:
(1) A minimum of 150 feet, both sides, north and south from the intersection
with Cummings Road.
(2) A minimum of 150 feet, both sides, north and south from the intersection
with Utley Road.
(3) A minimum of 150 feet, both sides, north and south from the intersection
with Barnum Road.
(4) A minimum of 150 feet, west side, north and south from the intersection
with Hake Road.
Notwithstanding the provisions of §
388-21B, every person convicted of a traffic infraction for a violation of any provision of this article which is not a violation of any provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than $50 and not more than $100. For any subsequent conviction within 18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not less than $100 and not more than $250.
