A. The Village of Coloma Board of Trustees shall assign and issue a
street number to all improved parcels within the Village of Coloma.
B. Only these assigned numbers shall be used as the official address
of the property.
C. The Village of Coloma Board of Trustees shall approve a standard
type of reflective sign to display these numbers.
D. All owners and occupants of buildings in the Village of Coloma shall
have the assigned street number of the building displayed upon a signpost
located at or near the front property line.
E. If a property has never had an approved reflective street number
sign, the Village of Coloma shall provide a sign and post at no initial
cost to the property owner. The Volunteer Fire Department shall install
this initial sign.
F. Property owners shall properly maintain the sign and keep it free
from damage, obstruction and other conditions that may prevent the
property from being easily identified from the street.
G. Property owners discovering that their sign has been stolen or damaged
shall report such condition to the Village Clerk within three business
days. The Village shall replace any sign that is damaged or stolen.
Property owners that caused the damage shall reimburse the Village
for the cost of repair or replacement.
H. Failure to comply with Subsection
D,
F, or
G is a violation of this chapter, and each day's continuance thereof shall constitute a separate offense.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting with or contravening
the provisions of this chapter are hereby repealed.
This chapter shall take effect upon passage and posting as provided
by law.
