Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133
there is hereby established in and for the Township of Harmony the
position of Municipal Clerk.
The term of the office of the Municipal Clerk
shall be for a period of three years commencing as of the actual date
upon which the person serving as Municipal Clerk is appointed by the
Township Committee. Any person who shall be reappointed Municipal
Clerk subsequent to having received a Registered Municipal Clerks
certificate pursuant to law and has served as Municipal Clerk or performed
the duties of Municipal Clerk for not less than three consecutive
years immediately prior to such reappointment or has acquired tenure
according to law shall hold the office during good behavior and efficiency,
notwithstanding that such reappointment was for a fixed term of years
and shall not be removed therefrom for political reasons, but only
upon good cause shown and after a proper hearing before the Director
of the Division of Local Government Services or his designee.
The Municipal Clerk shall receive such compensation
as shall be provided under ordinance fixing the salaries of several
Township officers and officials of the Township of Harmony, County
of Warren, State of New Jersey, as the same shall be amended or supplemented
from time to time.
