CODE OF VIRGINIA REFERENCES
Prohibiting loitering and establishing curfew — § 15.2-926.

It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of 18 years to remain in or upon any street, alley, park or other public place within the Town, or remain in or about any motor vehicle in or upon any street or alley within the Town, whether such motor vehicle shall be parked or in motion, between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day unless such person is accompanied by his parent or legal guardian. A violation of this section by a minor shall be disposed of as provided in §§ 16.1-278.4 and 16.1-278.5 of the Code of Virginia.

This chapter shall not be construed to prohibit minors from attending events held under school auspices or from attending places of religious worship or meetings held by or under the auspices of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts or other like organizations, not accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult person. In addition, this chapter shall not apply to a minor:
A. 
Who is performing an errand as directed by his parent, guardian or person having lawful custody.
B. 
Whose employment makes it necessary to be upon the streets, alleys or public places or in any motor vehicle during such hours.
C. 
Who is returning home from a supervised school, church or civic function.
D. 
Who is involved in an emergency situation.
It shall be unlawful for the owner, manager or other person having control of any public place or for the owner or operator of any motor vehicle to knowingly permit a violation of § 57-1.
It shall be unlawful for any parent, guardian or other adult having the care or custody of any person under the age of 18 years to permit any such person to violate any of the provisions of § 57-1.
