A Riverfront Revitalization Committee shall be established.

The Riverfront District is defined as the Housatonic riverfront corridor from the Boardman Bridge to Lover's Leap Bridge.

(a) 
The members of the Riverfront Revitalization Committee shall be volunteers, and shall receive no compensation for their services.
(b) 
The Committee shall consist of seven regular members and three alternate members, all of whom shall be electors of the Town appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Town Council.
(c) 
Four of the initial regular members and one alternate member shall serve for one year, and three regular members and two alternate members shall serve for two years. Thereafter regular and alternate members shall serve two-year terms.
(d) 
The Committee shall meet monthly, adopt rules and regulations for the conduct of its meetings, shall elect a Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary on an annual basis and may promulgate and adopt bylaws.

The Committee may:
(a) 
Promote and advance the preservation, protection, sustainability, development and maintenance of the Riverfront District and its connections to the Village Center and other parts of town, as a vital area of New Milford's economic, cultural and visitor activity.
(b) 
Develop and recommend to the Town comprehensive strategies as may be deemed appropriate for the Riverfront District.
(c) 
In coordination with Town agencies and the Corporation for New Milford Economic Development, implement the Town-adopted Riverfront Renewal Master Plan.
(d) 
Recommend what assistance, if any, is needed from professional consultants for Riverfront District efforts.
(e) 
Engage with residents and the business community to achieve broad support and use of the riverfront through activities and education. The Committee may cooperate with, sponsor and assist any privately operated or sponsored recreational activity.
(f) 
Promote and facilitate marketing and other programs that focus on the riverfront to increase visitors and awareness of the riverfront in conjunction with the appropriate municipal agencies.
(g) 
Promote, facilitate and act as liaison with regard to dynamic development significantly affecting the riverfront areas.
