A.
There is hereby levied and imposed on all residential property having
six (6) or less dwelling units an annual fee of twenty-eight dollars
($28.00) to provide funds to pay the cost of certain repairs of defective
lateral sewer service lines of those dwelling units.
B.
The funds collected pursuant to this Chapter shall be deposited in
a special account to be used solely for the purpose of paying for
all or a portion of the costs reasonably associated with and necessary
to administer and carry out the defective lateral sewer service line
repairs. All interest generated on deposited funds shall be accrued
to the special account established for the repair of lateral sewer
service lines.
C.
The City Manager of the City of Clayton, Missouri, is authorized
to add such fee to the general tax levy bills of property owners within
the City. All revenues received on such combined bills which are for
the purpose of providing for, ensuring or guaranteeing the repair
of lateral sewer lines, shall be separated from all other revenues
so collected and credited to the appropriate fund or account of the
City, as specified above.
