Borough of New Freedom, PA Article IX Fire Protection Tax

§ 199-80 Imposition of tax.

A tax for fire protection purposes is hereby levied upon all real property situate within the Borough of New Freedom, York County, Pennsylvania, for the calendar year 2023 at the rate of 0.28 mills on the dollar on the valuation thereof assessed for county purposes.

§ 199-81 Discount.

All taxpayers subject to the payment of the tax imposed by § 199-80, above, shall be entitled to a discount of 2% from the amount of such tax upon making payment of the whole amount thereof within two months after the date of the notice.

§ 199-82 Violations and penalties.

All taxpayers who shall fail to make payment of the whole amount of the tax imposed by § 199-80, above, for four months after the date of the tax notice, shall be charged a penalty of 10% of the whole amount thereof.
