As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
OUTDOOR SOLID FUEL HEATING DEVICE
A device, structure or apparatus which supplies direct or
indirect heat from the burning of solid fuel, including but not limited
to wood.
STACK or CHIMNEY
Any vertical structure enclosing a flue or flues that carry
off smoke or exhaust from an outdoor solid fuel heating device, especially
that part of such structure extending above a roof.

A. With respect to any outdoor solid fuel heating devices installed,
such outdoor solid fuel heating devices must be set back a minimum
of 50 feet from any property line.
B. The use of such outdoor solid fuel heating devices must follow all
operating instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
C. The only fuels allowed shall be those listed fuels recommended by
the manufacturer. The following are prohibited: trash, plastics, gasoline,
rubber, naphtha, household garbage, material treated with petroleum
products (particle board, railroad ties and pressure-treated wood),
leaves, paper products and cardboard.
D. Users must follow the manufacturer's written instructions for
recommended loading times and amounts.
E. Lighter fluids, gasoline or chemicals to start the outdoor solid
fuel heating device are prohibited.
F. The unit must be located with due consideration to the prevailing
wind direction.
G. Stack location.
(1) If located 100 feet or less from any residence not served by the
outdoor solid fuel heating device, the stack must be at least two
feet higher than the eave line of that residence.
(2) If located over 100 feet from a residence not served by the outdoor
solid fuel heating device, the stack must be at the height recommended
by the manufacturer.
