This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Village of Sands Point Planning Ordinance of 1951."
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
Applicant
The owner, subdivider, developer, or their authorized agent who makes application under the provisions of these regulations.
Board
The Planning Board of the Village of Sands Point.
Clerk
The Village Clerk.
Date Of Submission Of The Plat
The date of the first public hearing at which the Board considers the plat.
Engineer
The duly designated engineer or planning consultant employed by and/or assigned to the Board.
Master Plan
A comprehensive plan that may be adopted by the Planning Board pursuant to § 179-gg of the Village Law, which shall indicate the general locations recommended for the various functional classes of public works, places and structures and the general physical development of the Village of Sands Point, and includes any unit or part of such plan separately adopted and any amendment to such plan or parts thereof.
Minor Subdivision
The division of any parcel of land into two and not more than four lots, plots, sites, or other divisions of land for immediate or future sale or for building construction where no new streets are required, nor the extension of a previously laid out street, is required.
Official Map
The map filed with the County Clerk of Nassau County on December 23, 1937, and established by the Village Board of the Village of Sands Point at its meeting of December 20, 1937, as the Official Map of the Village of Sands Point, and any amendments thereto or any map subsequently established in lieu thereof.
Paved Area Of Roadway
The portion or portions of the right-of-way available for vehicular traffic, the width of which extends from curb to curb.
Plat
The final map on which the applicant's plan of subdivision is presented to the Board for approval and which, if approved, will be duly filed by the Applicant with the County Clerk.
Preliminary Layout
The preliminary drawings indicating the proposed layout of the subdivision to be submitted to the Board for its consideration.
Print
Any paper print which reproduces legibly and exactly the original tracing from which it was made.
Right-Of-Way
The area shown on the plat or map as set aside for highway purposes, the width of which extends from property line to property line.
Roads
A. 
MAJOR ROAD[??] One intended to serve as a main through traffic road.
B. 
SECONDARY OR FEEDER STREETOne intended to serve as a link or connection from a major road to a minor residential street or streets.
C. 
MINOR RESIDENTIAL STREETOne intended to serve primarily for the use of the occupants of the residences fronting thereon.
Sidewalk Area
The distance between property lines and curblines.
Subdivision
The division of any parcel of land into two or more lots, plots, sites or other divisions of land for immediate or future sale or for building developments.
Village
The Incorporated Village of Sands Point.
Village Board
The Board of Trustees of the Village.
Zoning Ordinance
The Building Zone Ordinance of the Village of Sands Point.
