A. Adoption. The Board of Aldermen hereby adopts the 2018 International Fire Code, as published by the International Code Council, and all referenced standards therein as if spelled out in this Article, except such portions thereof as are hereinafter deleted, modified, or amended. This code shall be designated as Section
500.110, Fire Code of Title V, Building and Construction, known as part of the Strafford Municipal Code. One (1) copy of said code is on file in the office of the City Clerk, City Hall 126 South Washington Avenue, Strafford, Missouri.
B. The
2018 International Fire Code, as adopted, is hereby amended, and changed
as follows:
1. 101.1 Title. Insert: City of Strafford, Missouri.
2. 106.2 Fees. Insert: Strafford Municipal Code Section
500.480.
3. 112.4 Failure To Comply. Insert: ($500.00), ($500.00).
4. 506.1.1 Locks. Amended to read as follows: An approved
lock shall be installed on gates or similar barriers and a Knox Box
will be required.
5. 912.4.1 Locking Fire Department Connection Caps. Delete
in its entirety and insert as follows.
All water based fire protection systems shall be provided with
locking caps approved by the Fire Department on the Fire Department
connection.
6. 5704.2.9.6.1 Locations Where Above Ground Tanks Are Prohibited. Insert: as determined by the Fire Official.
7. 5706.2.4.4 Locations Where Above Ground Tanks Are Prohibited. Insert: as determined by the Fire Official.
9. Appendix C. Fire Hydrant Locations And Distribution.
10. Appendix D. Fire Apparatus Access Roads.
11. Appendix E. Hazard Categories.
12. Appendix F. Hazard Ranking.

Nothing in this Article or in the Fire Code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in Section
500.140 of this Article; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Article.

All City of Strafford ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
are herewith and hereby repealed.
Any person who shall violate a provision of this code or shall
fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect,
construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of
an approved plan of or directive of the Code Official, or of a permit
or certificate issued under the provision of this code, shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred
dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days,
or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues
after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
