For the purpose of promoting health, safety
and general welfare of the Town of Coeymans, the town is hereby divided
into the following classes of districts:

Said districts are bounded as shown on a map
or maps entitled "Zoning Map, Town of Coeymans, New York," adopted
June 19, 1961, and certified by the Town Clerk, which accompanies
and which, with all explanatory matter thereon in hereby made a part
of this chapter. The zoning maps may be amended to the same manner
as any other part of this chapter. Said maps, indicating the latest
amendment, shall be kept up to date in the office of the Building
Inspector and the Town Planning Board/Zoning Board of Appeals for
the use and benefit of the people.

A. An interpretation as to district boundaries on the Zoning Map shall
apply the following rules:
(1) Where district boundaries are indicated as approximately following
the center line or right-of-way line of streets, alleys, highways,
railroads or streams, such lines shall be construed to be such district
boundaries.
(2) Where district boundaries are indicated as approximately following
lot lines, such lot lines shall be construed to be the boundaries.
(3) If a lot or parcel is divided by a zoning district boundary, each
portion of the lot or parcel so divided shall be subject to the zoning
regulations for the district in which it is located.
(4) Whenever a street, alley or public way is abandoned as authorized
by law, the zoning adjoining each side of such street, alley or public
way shall be extended to the center of the former right-of-way, and
the area included in the abandonment shall be subject to all regulations
of the extended district.
B. In the event that none of the above rules is applicable, the location
of such boundary, unless indicated by dimensions on the map, shall
be determined by the Town Board upon recommendation of the Planning
Board.
