There is hereby created the position of Principal
Data Entry Machine Operator.
The duties of Principal Data Entry Machine Operator
are to:
A. Operate an electronic key-entry machine to perform
a variety of complicated data entering and verifying assignments and
to work from standardized and nonstandardized source documents that
require variations in the entries to be made and shall take the lead
over a group of operators on a regular and recurring basis or may
serve as a shift leader or shall supervise a small unit of operators
and support personnel.
B. Exercise independent judgment in diagnosing and analyzing
errors. The Principal Operator maintains control over production records
and takes the lead over a group of operators or has charge of a shift
as the lead operator or has full charge of the work operation and
the individual progress of operators in a small unit. The Principal
Operator will resolve most of the problems that the senior operator
is unable to resolve and that would normally be referred to the supervisor
for resolution.
To be appointed to the position of Principal
Data Entry Machine Operator, an individual must meet the following
requirements. He must:
A. Possess two years of experience in the operation of
a key-entry, key-verification device.
B. Possess the ability to understand, remember and carry
out oral and written directions.
C. Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical
and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the
required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself
or others.
The salary for Principal Data Entry Machine
Operator shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee
and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary
Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.
