There is hereby created the position of Mechanic's
Helper for the Public Works Department of the Township of Lacey.
The Mechanic's Helper shall, under direct supervision,
assist and work closely with the Mechanic involved in performing varied
mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and
mechanized equipment. The Mechanic's Helper shall perform related
work as required by his supervisors.
To be appointed to the position of Mechanic's
Helper, an individual must meet the following requirements:
A.
Possess a valid New Jersey driver's license.
B.
Possess a basic knowledge of the standard tools, materials,
methods, practices and occupational hazards and safety precautions
involved in mechanical repair work.
C.
Possess the ability to read, write, speak, understand
and communicate in the English language sufficiently to perform the
duties of the position.
D.
Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical
and mental defects which would prevent the individual from performing
the duties of Mechanic's Helper.
