There is hereby created the position of Supervising Tax Clerk for the Township of Lacey.
The duties of the Supervising Tax Clerk, under direction, shall include but not be limited to:
A. 
Supervising a clerical unit involved in the computation and recording of tax payments.
B. 
Performing such other related work as required.
To be appointed to the position of Supervising Tax Clerk, an individual must meet the following requirements:
A. 
Possess three years of experience in performing the clerical work involved in maintaining tax records.
B. 
Possess wide knowledge of proper procedures used in maintaining records of tax collections.
C. 
Possess wide knowledge of preparing suitable reports showing tax arrearages and notices.
D. 
Possess wide knowledge of dealing tactfully with the public.
E. 
Possess wide knowledge of handling correspondence and of modern office routines, equipment and practices.
F. 
Possess the ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position. Communication may include such forms as American Sign Language or braille.
G. 
Possess the ability to comprehend established office routine and rules and regulations of complexity.
H. 
Possess the ability to organize assigned work and develop effective work methods.
I. 
Possess the ability to give suitable assignments and instructions to individuals and groups.
J. 
Possess the ability to supervise the maintenance of suitable records and files.
K. 
Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself or others. Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue hardship, such person may not be eligible.
The salary for Supervising Tax Clerk shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]
