No person shall ride or operate a bicycle upon any sidewalk, street
or public place in the Incorporated Village of Bellerose in such a manner
as to interfere with pedestrians thereon.
Every bicycle operated or driven upon any street or public place in
said Incorporated Village of Bellerose shall be equipped and shall in all
respects comply with the provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the
State of New York.
No person shall ride or operate a bicycle upon any street or public
place in said Village while hanging on to an automobile, motorcycle or other
vehicle of any kind, nor shall any person riding or operating a bicycle proceed
with his feet off the pedals or hands off of the steering apparatus thereof
or perform any trick or fancy riding thereon.
A person riding or operating a bicycle in said Village shall observe
all traffic signs, stop signs, traffic signals and all other traffic regulations
and shall operate said bicycle on the right-hand side of the street at all
times and as near to the curb as practicable.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be
liable for and forfeit and pay to the Incorporated Village of Bellerose a
penalty not exceeding $15 for a first offense and not exceeding $50 for a
second and each subsequent offense. In addition thereto, a violation of any
of the provisions of this chapter shall constitute and is hereby declared
to be disorderly conduct, and any person violating any of the provisions of
this chapter shall be and is hereby declared to be a disorderly person; and
such violation shall constitute disorderly conduct, and such person shall
be a disorderly person.
