This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Electrical Code
of the Incorporated Village of Bellerose."
The Chief Inspector and each of the duly appointed Inspectors of the
New York Board of Fire Underwriters are hereby authorized and deputized as
agents of the Incorporated Village of Bellerose to make inspections and reinspections
of all electrical installations hereafter described and to approve or disapprove
the same. In no event, however, will the cost or expense of such inspections
and reinspections be a charge against the Incorporated Village of Bellerose.

It shall be a violation of this chapter for any person, firm or entity
to install or cause to be installed or to alter electrical wiring for light,
heat or power in or on properties in the Village of Bellerose until an application
for inspection on forms of a firm or entity licensed to perform electrical
inspections acceptable to the Village Building Inspector or Village Engineer
has been filed with the Building Department. It shall be a violation of this
chapter for a person, firm or entity to connect or cause to be connected electrical
wiring, in or on properties, for light, heat or power to any source of electrical
energy supply prior to the issuance of a temporary certificate or a certificate
of compliance by a firm or entity licensed to perform electrical inspections
acceptable to the Village Building Inspector or Village Engineer.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this chapter
shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than $250, and,
in addition thereto, such violation shall constitute disorderly conduct, and
the person, firm or corporation violating the same shall be a disorderly person.
Each day on which said violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
