Every person having ownership, possession, custody, control or charge of any building or structure shall have and maintain the established street address number thereon upon or near each entrance from a street of the Township or state and/or from any other public accessway in the manner and location designated by this chapter. "Accessway" shall include, but not be limited to, any alley, stairway, driveway or walkway.
The owners and/or occupants of all establishments contained within a multitenant commercial, office or industrial building complex which have front and rear entrances shall cause the correct street numbers to be placed on or adjacent to both front and rear doors. The number shall comply with all other sections of this chapter.
Installation, change, substitution or removal of any existing or subsequently designated street address number shall be completed within 10 days after receipt by the owner, occupant, lessee, tenant or custodian of such building or structure, or any person or agent in charge thereof, of a written notice containing appropriate instructions therefor from the Township.
The minimum dimensions of any street address number designated by the Township on or after May 1, 1991, shall be as follows:
A. 
The height in inches of any number or figure therein shall be the sum of 1/10 of the distance in feet of the number from the edge of the pavement of the road which the building or structure is situated and providing that every number shall not be less than four inches in height.
B. 
The overall width of any figure in or comprising the number shall be 1/2 of its height.
C. 
The width of the stroke of any figure in or comprising the number shall be 1/10 of its height.
D. 
Any building not visible from the road shall place the number on a post or other means of support at least 18 inches off of the ground at the main driveway entrance or walkway, so as to be easily visible from the street. In the event that a building is one of several located along a joint driveway or access drive, each address must be posted at the drive entrance from the street, as noted above, and additionally at each individual drive or front yard area.
E. 
Any building situated on a corner shall locate the number only on the street representing the correct mailing address assigned regardless of where the property driveway is located.
A. 
Design (including shape and style) as well as location of the street address numbers shall be such that they are legible and easily readable.
B. 
The Township may prescribe a street address number larger in size than the dimensions stated in § 116-4 when it is determined that due to lighting conditions, building locations, shadows, background or other reasons, street address number of minimum dimensions will not be easily readable from the street or approach to the entrance. A street address number of unusual design or placement may not be employed without prior written approval by the Township.
The Township shall adopt such reasonable rules and regulations as are necessary to implement the street address number provisions of this chapter.
All buildings on the west and south side of any street within the Township shall be assigned an even number. All buildings on the east and north of any street within the Township shall be assigned an odd number.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this chapter, upon conviction thereof in an action brought before a district justice in the manner provided for the enforcement of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation of this chapter continues or each section of this chapter which shall be found to have been violated shall constitute a separate offense.
