The audit of the accounts of the Borough of Brentwood, beginning with
the accounts for the fiscal year 1973, shall hereafter be made by an appointed
independent auditor who shall be either a person or firm of certified public
accountants registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
On or before the last day of the fiscal year, the Council of the Borough
of Brentwood shall designate such auditor by resolution, which auditor shall
be thereby empowered to commence and complete the audit of the fiscal affairs
of the municipality for the fiscal year designated.
The appointed independent auditor shall be paid such compensation as
shall be fixed by the Council of the Borough of Brentwood consistent with
the provisions of the Borough Code.
The appointed independent auditor shall have and possess all the power
and perform all the duties presently held by the elected auditor.
The office of elected auditor is hereby abolished prospectively in the
Borough of Brentwood.
The Council of the Borough of Brentwood may appoint citizen advisory
personnel as they deem necessary to act as a fiscal advisory committee to
the appointed auditor of the Borough Council. Any person appointed to such
fiscal advisory committee shall serve without compensation.
