[Adopted 10-10-2006 by Ord. No. 1157]
No Borough equipment, supplies, machinery or property shall be removed
from any Borough property or facility in which the equipment, supplies, machinery
or property are currently located, or hereafter located, without the express
approval of the Council of the Borough of Brentwood, Chairman of the appropriate
committee of Council of the Borough, or the President of Council of the Borough
of Brentwood. For example, if a piece of equipment or supply is under the
control of the Public Works Department, such equipment shall not be removed
from any Borough facility, except in the ordinary course of use, without the
approval of the Council of the Borough of Brentwood, Chairman of the Public
Works Committee of Brentwood Borough Council, or the President of Council.
This restriction is not intended to prohibit or interfere with the normal
use of equipment, supplies, machinery or property by any department of the
Borough of Brentwood during the ordinary course of business. By way of further
example, this article is not intended to restrict the use by the Public Works
Department of a piece of equipment and the transporting of that equipment
from the Borough garage to its use at a work site to repair or remedy a Borough
problem.
No Borough equipment, supplies, machinery or property is to be altered,
repaired or tampered with without the express written approval of the Council
of the Borough of Brentwood, Chairman of the appropriate committee of Brentwood
Borough Council, or the President of Council. This restriction is not intended
to, or meant to, prohibit the normal use of such equipment, supplies, machinery
or property during the ordinary course of business. But, to the extent repairs
or alterations of such equipment are required, and said repair or alteration
will be an expense of the Borough, prior approval must be given by the Council
of the Borough of Brentwood, Chairman of the appropriate committee of Brentwood
Borough Council, or the President of Council.
Any employee of the Borough of Brentwood who violates the provisions
of this article shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, including,
but not limited to, suspension and/or termination from employment.
