[Adopted as Ch. 26 of the 1963 City Code (Ch. 65, Art. I, §§ 65-5 and 65-6, of the 1980 Code)]
The office of Planning Director is hereby established. He shall be appointed by the Mayor on the basis of special qualifications only. He shall hold office at the pleasure of the Mayor and shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed by ordinance.
The Planning Director shall attend meetings of the Planning Board and shall assist in the development of a Master Plan for the City. He shall gather data and conduct research. Under the direction of the Mayor, he shall assist in coordinating the planning activities conducted by the several departments of the government and shall carry out planning for special projects.[1]
