The Director of Veterans' Services shall perform all the duties required
and authorized under this chapter.
The Director of Veterans' Services shall keep detailed accounts of all
moneys received and disbursed in the City under the provisions of this article,
which accounts, with his other records, shall be at all times subject to the
inspection of the City Council, the Mayor and the Auditor of Accounts. He
shall annually, in July, make to the Mayor a full and complete report of all
his official acts during the municipal year next preceding the first day of
July, which report shall be incorporated in the report of the Mayor required
to be made annually to the City Council.

The officer designated in §
94-1 shall be designated the Soldiers' Relief Agent and Burial Agent of the City and may be any other officer of the City. He shall perform the duties required by law of a state and military aid disbursement officer or board and of a burial agent as aforesaid, and such other duties, not inconsistent with law, as the City Council may require or direct, and shall receive such compensation therefor as the City Council may determine.
The Mayor shall annually, in July, appoint an officer to disburse, in
the City, all funds or appropriations provided for soldiers' relief and military
aid under the provisions of Chapter 115 of the General Laws. This officer
shall also serve as the burial agent to be appointed under the provisions
of MGL c. 115, § 7.
The agent appointed as provided in §
94-4 shall keep full and complete records of all cases of aid or relief furnished, shall make out all necessary vouchers therefor and shall prepare the monthly and weekly payrolls for state and military aid and soldiers' relief and present them for certification to the Mayor as soon as prepared.
