The school physicians and school nurses shall be appointed and compensated
pursuant to state law.
The school physician shall make a prompt examination of all children
referred to him, and such further examination of teachers, janitors, and school
buildings as in his opinion the protection of the health of the pupils may
require, and shall perform other duties as required by state law.
The school physicians, school nurses and their assistants shall make
reports to the Board of Health and perform further duties not inconsistent
with law or ordinance as the Board of Health shall require as necessary for
the public health and welfare. Nothing in this section shall require the school
physicians, school nurses or their assistants to make any report which violates
federal and state health information privacy laws and regulations.
