The Township may discontinue the service of
water for any of the following reasons:
A. Violation by the owner or occupant of any of the provisions
of this chapter or any ordinances of the Township of Franklin relative
to the use and sale of water.
B. For tampering with any service connection pipe or
line, meter, curb stop or any other appliance belonging to the Township.
C. For the refusal of reasonable access to property for
the purpose of inspection or for reading meters.
D. For the failure to maintain in good condition any
branch connection therefrom, any service pipe or service connection.
E. For failure to pay water usage bills within 20 days
after notice of delinquency is mailed. Notice of delinquency should
be mailed 21 days after the due date of the water usage bills.

When an existing water service line (fire, domestic or combined)
is replaced or removed, the abandoned water service line must be disconnected
at the water main by removing the existing corporation valve or tapping
valve, disconnecting the abandoned water service line, and removing
all valve boxes on the abandoned water service line using approved
Water Division material. Only after such removal will the billing
cease.

A service charge of $75 will be made for turning
on the water supply where it has been found necessary to discontinue
service of water by reason of the infraction of any regulation of
this chapter or where water has been turned off at the owner’s
request.
No voluntary discontinuance of service will
be effective unless the owner or occupant gives at least two days'
written notice thereof to the Township.
