Pursuant to Article 5, Title 1-A of the Real Property Tax Law and in accordance therewith, there is hereby appointed a Board of Assessment Review, to consist of five members having knowledge of property values in the City of Peekskill.
The terms of office of the members of the Board of Assessment Review shall be five years, except that the terms of the members of the first Board appointed under the provisions of the said Article and this chapter shall be of such length that no more than one term shall expire in each of the first five years after the members of such Board are appointed.
Neither the Assessor nor any member of his staff shall be appointed to the said Board, and a majority of such Board shall consist of members who are not officers or employees of the City of Peekskill.
The said Board of Assessment Review shall have all the powers and duties conferred upon it by Article 5, Title 1-A of the Real Property Tax Law.
