The following appointed officials, as set forth
by the Charter and this chapter, are herein recognized for the purpose
of effective and efficient administration of the governing of the
Township.
There shall be a Township Manager appointed by the Board whose appointment and qualifications shall be as stated in §
C701 of the Charter. The Township Manager shall serve as the chief administrative official of the Township and shall have the powers and perform those duties as prescribed by the Charter, this chapter or by ordinances or resolutions of the Board.
The Township Manager shall appoint, with the
advice and consent of the Board, an Assistant Township Manager; however,
no appointment shall be for a term longer than that of the Manager.
The Assistant Manager shall be appointed solely on the basis of executive
administration qualifications, either by training or by education,
with special reference to actual experience in or knowledge of accepted
practices in respect to the duties of the office.
The Township Manager shall designate in writing, subject to the approval of the Board, an Acting Township Manager in accordance with §
C705 of the Charter. The Acting Manager shall be an employee of the Township who shall exercise the powers and duties of the Manager during his absence or disability.
There shall be a Township Controller appointed by the Board whose manner of appointment, tenure, duties, qualifications and compensation shall be as provided in §
C901 of the Charter.
There shall be an Acting Township Controller appointed by the Board in accordance with §
C902 of the Charter. The Acting Controller shall be an employee of the Township and shall exercise the powers and duties of the Controller during his absence or disability.
