In the conduct or operation of supermarkets,
shopping centers, private social functions, weddings, funerals, athletic
events, lectures and other events or assemblages where large numbers
of persons are gathered together, the Chief of Police may, upon payment
to the Township of charges hereinafter specified, supply the number
of police officers he deems necessary to properly supervise the safe
and speedy conduct of traffic on the streets of the Township and in,
into and out of parking areas and private property and to maintain
public order, protect property and supervise attendance of persons,
customers and patrons.

There shall be paid to the Township of Cheltenham
for the police service provided under the terms of this Article an
hourly rate as determined by the Township Manager under the provisions
of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. If the activity requires
fewer than two hours' police service, there shall be a charge for
not fewer than two hours. All such charges shall be paid to the Township
in advance prior to the time said police service is required.
